On May 8 — Norway's Veterans Day — 11 wounded Ukrainian veterans lined up at the start of an international run in Oslo, side by side with Norwegian veterans.
The route covered 10 kilometers, from Veteran House to Akershus Fortress, one of Norway's most enduring symbols of resistance. Among the participants were defenders with severe combat injuries. Some completed the distance on prosthetics.
After the run, participants joined a commemorative ceremony honouring veterans of both nations.
The event was organized as part of an international rehabilitation program run by the Charitable Fund "Vesna!" and Veterans Dozen Foundation, together with Norwegian partner Veteran Aid Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation also visited Bæreia Veteran Center, the Norwegian Armed Forces' leading rehabilitation facility.
The Norwegian veterans presented the Ukrainian delegation with Norwegian Armed Forces challenge coins — a mark of respect and recognition. The Ukrainians brought something in return: a flag signed by every member of the delegation.
