The Ukrainian team's participation was made possible through the work of many hands. TV journalist Roman Bebekh and Daria Donchenko, co-founders of the civic organization "Limitless" (founded 2025), coordinated media coverage and logistics.
The Ukrainian community of Dundee and the Highlands region welcomed the team at the finish with home-cooked Ukrainian food. Scottish volunteers staffed mountain checkpoints around the clock, providing medical support, food, and encouragement.
US Consul General Kathryn Porter and Honorary Consul of Canada Mary Duncan also supported the Ukrainian delegation throughout the event.
Ukraine's history with the Cateran Yomp goes back to 2018, when officers of the Air Assault Forces first won gold at the event. A year later, the Ukrainian veterans' team took home four gold medals — the beginning of a long record of Ukrainian victories on the international stage.
This year's participation is part of an ongoing international programme linking sport, rehabilitation, and solidarity — one that connects events like the US Marine Corps Marathon, the Soldier Field 10 in Chicago, and the Wounded Warrior Highland Games under a shared principle: side by side.

On 6–7 June, eleven Ukrainian servicemembers and veterans took part in the 15th anniversary edition of the Cateran Yomp — a gruelling 24-hour ultramarathon covering up to 54 miles (around 87 km) through the Cairngorm Mountains in Perthshire, Scotland.
Among the Ukrainian team were four warriors who sustained severe injuries and amputations at the front. Together with their teammates, they covered approximately 40 kilometres over 12 hours across mountain trails and forest terrain.
Andrii Madzianovskyi, Consul of Ukraine in Edinburgh, walked the full route alongside the Ukrainian team.
This year's event brought together more than a thousand veterans and civilians from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Denmark, Poland, and beyond. Organized by the Allied Forces Foundation and the Army Benevolent Fund, the Cateran Yomp supports the recovery of wounded military personnel through shared challenge and cross-national exchange.
