Ukrainian veterans run Marine Corps Marathon 2023 on prosthetics

Ukrainian veterans took part in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., continuing their journey of recovery through sport.

Among the participants were several veterans who had lost limbs during the war. For many, this race marked their first time completing such a distance on prosthetics — a powerful milestone in both physical and emotional rehabilitation.

Their participation stood as a symbol of resilience, determination, and the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine’s defenders, showing that even after severe injuries, recovery and achievement remain possible.
